On Tuesday night, MYD joined many politically minded folks for a multi-partisan Super Tuesday watch party hosted by the New American Tavern at the Village Pourhouse.
The New American Tavern is a movement designed to reintegrate political discussion, learning and civic engagement into the social and cultural fabric of American life. With the GOP primaries at center stage, innovative ideas such as the Speakers Corner to encourage dialogue, 2 for 1 drink specials and a special cocktail called the “Pork Barrel”, they are well on their way to redefining what a Public House can be.
Along with the many groups in attendance, and the friends they brought with them, it was great to meet so many people new to New York City from all over the country interested in watching the primaries and engaging in political discourse in this setting – and even one guy visiting the States for a few months from Australia who dropped in for the night and got into the action writing the Australian Labor Party on his name tag.
Here are some amazing pics from the talented Jon Reznick.
