When I think about my Top 5 online organizers list, one of them is always the Courage Campaign. Based in California, Courage Campaign has been working hard to re-energize community organizing and change the state’s notoriously dysfunctional government. They’ve been particularly powerful in their advocacy for marriage equality.
Now, Courage Campaign is hosting a Camp Courage (modeled on Camp Obamas from 2008) in DC — a four hour training session on Saturday, Oct 10, starting at 1:30PM. It’s scheduled to coincide with another awesome event taking place in our nation’s capitol: the Equality Across America march. A bunch of us from MYD are gunning to get down there and represent New York to fight for LGBT civil rights. If you’re interested in joining us, email our Special Events Director David Myers at events [at] goMYD [dot] com.
So where will you be next weekend? DC sounds like the place to be — email David now.
