TODAY — ACTION ALERT: Paterson Vetoes, New Yorkers Speak Out!

News // Only in NY // Take Action

On Saturday Governor Paterson vetoed a bill that would temporarily ban hydrofracking in New York state.  He instead issued an Executive Order which bans only horizontal fracturing, but still allows the also-dangerous vertical fracturing.  In response, the group Frack Action is organizing a protest outside the Governor’s Manhattan office:

MONDAY DECEMBER 13th, 12 noon
NYC Office of Gov David Paterson
644 3rd Avenue (between 41st and 42nd)

Join Mark Ruffalo and residents of Dimock, PA to demand that Paterson impose a timeout on vertical hydro-fracking.

Tomorrow we’re going to demand answers from Governor Paterson! Join us at the Governor’s NYC office at 12 noon Monday December 13th. Mark Ruffalo, NY State Senator Liz Krueger, and Craig and Julie Sautner of Dimock, PA will be there to tell the Governor to close the “Paterson Loophole” for vertical wells NOW.

We need to let the Governor know that we will not allow him to put our water supply at risk!
