For some mysterious reason, hundreds of children believe that Santa lives in Manhattan (specifically West 22nd Street in Apt #7). It is the most random thing ever, except that the couple that lives have the biggest hearts ever: they actually try to respond to them all.
The NY Times put together a video of their interview with the couple. It’s incredibly touching and guaranteed put you in the Holiday spirit. It will also make you question (for the 100th time) why gay couples are still denied the right to marry in New York.
Some of the better quotes:
“Children believe Santa lives in Chelsea.”
When asked why they decided to try to respond to them: “That, to me, is like saying, ‘well I can’t fix all the world’s problems, so I won’t fix any of them.'”
