Russell’s career in the field began before most of us knew what the word “democracy” meant: My first political experience was when I was in 5th grade and my mom’s boss was the campaign manager for a county executive bid in Maryland. Of course mom got dragged in, and so did I. So I’m pretty sure I was stuffing envelopes (old school!) and knocking on doors then. OFA Requesting Monserrate Cease Use of Logo

Regarding Hiram Monserrate’s use of the Obama logo, we just heard the following from OFA: “This use of the logo is neither approved nor supported by Organizing for America. The campaign did not seek nor do they have permission to use the it. We are asking them to remove it from their materials.” Considering that being expelled from the Senate didn’t seem to influence him, we’ll have to see if Monserrate complies… ( h/t: Ben Yee ) UPDATE: Not only have they not stopped using the logo yet, but Monserrate’s campaign has launched a brand new (not entirely functional) website, using the logo in multiple places, including the site’s favicon: The updated website makes no mention whatsoever of the coup … More >>
