Just Another Straight Kid(s), Marching For Equality

Ben, Julie, and I headed down to Washington this past weekend to March for Equality. It was an amazing weekend–we attended Camp Courage, hosted by California’s illustrious Courage Campaign on Saturday, and then marched with tens of thousands of LGBT rights supporters in the National Equality March (#NEM). We’ve posted our photos, and you can watch the speeches and extensive coverage on the Equality Across America website and NYTimes. If you haven’t already, join their campaign — EAA is doing great work and we ALL need to work to end discrimination against the LGBT community. Photo of the Week: Hora Trumps Hate

From last weekend’s counter-protest against Westboro Baptist Church, a severely disillusioned group that traveled all the way from Wichita, Kansas to spread their hate for gays, Jews and President Obama at Brooklyn synagogues. But the people fought back, they did, by singing, dancing and holding signs like the one above. (Great coverage of the event by everyone’s favorite Brooklyn blog, FIPS.)
