SUCCESS! Rep. Anthony Weiner and MYD, 4/7 event
More than 200 young, progressive New Yorkers gathered on Wednesday to celebrate the passage of the Health Care reform bill. Our guest was none other than Congressman Anthony Weiner, one of the most outspoken leaders on this issue. The event was donned “THE BIG F—ING DEAL: Healthcare Q/A & Drinks Featuring Rep. Anthony Weiner” after Vice President Joe Biden’s tasteful remark. MYD Meeting Tonight! New Location!
Quick reminder that tonight’s General Meeting is at a new location: MYD General Meeting and Post-meeting Drinks Van Diemens – 383 3rd Avenue, near 28th Street (map) 7:00 – 8:00pm, drinks begin at 8:00pm MYD Directors and IOC Chairs will be giving an update. MYD Survey: The Results are in!
Last week, we conducted a brief survey asking our members for guidance on issue priorities, MYD programming, and more. A huge Thank You to everyone who completed the survey, we really value your input! The newly elected executive board and appointed directors have gone over these results in detail, and we plan to use them to guide what we do this coming year. I thought I would share some of the results with you. Will You Be Our 100th?
MYD is at 99 dues-paying members. Yes, that’s right, folks. YOU could be that special someone who pushes us into the triple-digits for 2009. Will you be that person? Will you make our hearts go pitter-pat with joy? As our 100th member, you will be a living, breathing, progressive-agenda-wielding testatment to how far MYD has come over the past seven months. Last year, MYD’s dues-paying membership numbered around 30. Now, just a little over halfway into 2009, we’re well on our way to quadrupling that figure.
