The Constitution Has Spoken – ‘Stop Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’
Tonight Federal Judge Virginia Phillips of California told the military they must stop enforcing DADT because as she writes it:
“infringes the fundamental rights of United States servicemembers and prospective service members”
The move is part of a case brought by the Log Cabin Republicans over DADT and its infringement on 1st and 5th amendment rights. Â The injucntion is the next step in realizing that DADT should be repealed and that the entire concecpt is a farse.

Prop 8 Update: Stay Granted, But Hope For A [Relatively] Quick Resolution?
From Andrew Sullivan, quoting Courage Campaign’s Brian Devine:
First, and drastically most importantly, the Court granted the stay. Consequently the thousands of couples who were waiting for the day of equality will have to wait at least a few more months until December.
Second, the Court wants this case to be resolved quickly. Appellants’ opening brief is due in just a month and the hearing will happen on December 6th. This is lightning quick for a Federal Court of Appeals,
Just Another Straight Kid(s), Marching For Equality

Based in California, Courage Campaign has been working hard to re-energize community organizing and change the state’s notoriously dysfunctional government.
