Andrew Cuomo Announces Run For Governor

Andrew Cuomo released a short video this morning announcing that he will run for Governor of New York. He also released a longer video, 21 min, which I embedded below. In that video he outlines a wide range of his policy positions. The NYTimes also has a great interactive feature called Perspectives on Andrew M. Cuomo, “where former colleagues, mentors and campaign challengers” speak about Cuomo’s “leadership style, accomplishments and temperament.”

Paterson Will Not Run for Reelection

After yesterday’s story that Governor Paterson intervened in a domestic violence case involving one of his aides, The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza is reporting that:

Fellow Young Democrat Running For State Senate

Mike DiSanto, 29, is campaigning to unseat the only Republican State Senator in Brooklyn. His opposition is Marty Golden, a former police officer, who has gone unchallenged in the last two races. Golden is popular in the district, but it seems like a smart move by DiStanto to run and get his name out there, win or lose.
