Save Our Dough

Do you LOVE a good bagel or a great slice of pizza? Whether you’re a die-hard fan of H&H on the Upper West Side or can’t get enough slices of Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn, New Yorkers all have their favorite spots for bagels and pizza.

But what makes a real New York bagel and a real New York slice of pizza so much better than the crap that passes in the rest of the country?

Our water.

New York has some of the purest water in America – it comes straight to the city from the Catskills and other upstate watersheds. And right now, there is a big threat to that water, a key ingredient to our best-in-the-world bagels and pizza: Hydrofracking.

Join MYD’s Environmental Issues Committee as we fight for regulation of hydrofracking in upstate New York! The hydrofracking ban expires on May 15th — giving us only a very short window of time to ensure the necessary regulatory steps are taken to protect New York’s water from the potential hazards of hydrofracking.
