This Saturday organizers from all over NY State gathered at The Hive downtown to get together to talk best-practices, next steps and the best way for the grassroots movement to work together to improve our operations. The day was a huge success, with a lot of great ideas and partnerships formed!
I was blown away at how animated and passionate all of the attendees were. When the New Organizing Institute called me a few months ago to ask me if I was interested in organizing a RootsCamp in NY I had no idea what I was getting myself into! The diversity of backgrounds and passions was really uplifting. Discussions focused on everything from youth, Women in politics, the Labor Movement, how to organize in Red Districts, to how to use, create and grow your network with technology. I cannot thank those who attended enough for their passion and drive.
Thank you to all of the amazing sponsors & partners who helped make RootsCamp NY a huge success:
The Manhattan Young Democrats
The NYSYD Caucus of Color
New Kings Democrats
The Albany Project
This Week in Blackness
Brooklyn Young Democrats
