Hey girl, so you want to work in politics?

Tomorrow night, the MYD Women’s Issues Committee is teaming up with our friends at WIN.NYC and WomenElect to present “Getting Started: Women Working in Politics,” a salon-style discussion and networking event with industry leaders exploring the tricks of breaking into politics.

You know what it’s like. You apply for jobs, thinking “What are they looking for?” Before an interview, you might wonder “Which of my skills should I talk up?” And then, if you land the job, “What am I actually getting myself into?” Come listen to our experts give advice on getting a job and what to expect while working in politics.

Speakers:
· Emma Wolfe, Chief of Staff, Public Advocate Bill De Blasio
· Jeanine Johnson, Chief of Staff, Assembly Member Keith Wright
· Christina Baal, Deputy Political Director, RWDSU
· Jan Feuerstadt, Managing Director, CGK Partners and The Movement Group
· Brette McSweeney, Executive Director, Eleanor’s Legacy

The event is on June 27th, 6 p.m. at the home of Virginia Davies in the West Village. Please email [email protected] if you want to attend.
