Issue Committees
Take an active role in helping to formulate the future policies of the Democratic Party. Members of the Issues Committees will help formulate the policy stance of the Manhattan Young Democrats and identify legislation and candidates for MYD to support.
Members of issue committees debate policy and track related news through an MYD discussion list; organize speakers, panels and other events to increase awareness; and work with MYD’s President, VP, and Political Director to identify effective ways to influence policy. Issue Committee Chairs are elected by each committee and have a voting seat on the Executive Board.
The forward looking arm of the Democratic party is relying on YOU to help push the party towards directions entrenched interests can’t or won’t acknowledge.
