Ben, Julie, and I headed down to Washington this past weekend to March for Equality. It was an amazing weekend–we attended Camp Courage, hosted by California’s illustrious Courage Campaign on Saturday, and then marched with tens of thousands of LGBT rights supporters in the National Equality March (#NEM).
We’ve posted our photos, and you can watch the speeches and extensive coverage on the Equality Across America website and NYTimes. If you haven’t already, join their campaign — EAA is doing great work and we ALL need to work to end discrimination against the LGBT community. It’s the civil rights issue of our time, and this march was the start of a new phase of the fight.
Some favorites from my 100+ shutter-happy collection:
A rainbow against blue sky as we got ready to march at McPherson Square.

Just another straight kid, marching for what's right.

People filled the West Lawn as far as the eye could see.

hey that’s me and my friend in the second pic! =]
I’m that straight kid. The dreadheaded asian with me is another ally.
Glad you guys were there. Young people have to carry this cause.
Ooh I was really hoping to find you guys online! Great sign, and thanks for letting us take a photo of you. Yes, agreed, we must have young people carry this cause!
