Breaking news from TPM via TAP:
The NY-20 special election is now officially over.
GOP candidate Jim Tedisco, who trailed by 401 votes as of yesterday’s vote count, has called Democrat Scott Murphy to concede, according to Murphy spokesman Ryan Rudominer.
A HUGE congrats to Congressman-Elect Scott Murphy! And to the MYDers who helped make this win possible. From the Prez Al Benninghoff, who was so excited he started writing a blog post (but I beat him to it!):
MYD played a pivotal role in this election. I’d like to personally thank all of you who donated your time, your money, and your resources. It was all worth it. I said early on that the margins would be so close that every individual would play a part in swaying this race, and that was absolutely correct. This was the first real test of our organizational ability since last year’s presidential election, and we performed outstandingly. Through your efforts, MYD was able to make over 3,000 phone calls into the district and sent 30 people into the 20th Congressional District to canvass.
What a fantastic way to start your weekend. Now let’s go celebrate by plantin’ some trees. Hooray!

yaaaay!
